INTRO & UPDATES
Good afternoon, everyone - Happy June.
We've reserved an allocation in Aerolane, a patented towed-cargo-glider system that lets conventional aircraft double payload while cutting fuel burn 35%. The company has a binding anchor contract with the largest regional U.S. air cargo carrier, FAA STC in final review, and three Department of War programs in active evaluation. Our syndicate partner is running this SPV with a target close in June.

THE COMPANY
Aerolane is the tractor-trailer for the sky. Conventional aircraft tow unpowered cargo gliders ("Aerocarts") with no engines, no fuel system, and no complex avionics - the line items that represent 30-50% of an aircraft's cost. Combined fuel burn drops 35%, capacity doubles, and cost per ton-mile falls 30-70%.
Air freight currently costs 5-10x trucking. A 737 equipped with an Aerocart hits operating rates at or below LTL spot trucking while delivering in 6 hours what takes a truck 4 days. A top-3 global integrator (FedEx / UPS / Amazon / DHL class) has independently modeled fleet-wide adoption as a material annual savings line.
13 patents, 4 years of FAA-supervised flight data, and the world's largest dataset on wake turbulence behind fixed-wing aircraft.
HIGH LEVEL EXPLAINER
Imagine you own a trucking company.
Normally, if you want to move more boxes, you need to buy another truck.
Aerolane is basically saying:
"What if instead of buying another airplane, we just attach a giant flying trailer behind the airplane?"

Here's how it works:
✈️ Regular airplane in front
Has pilots and engines.
Pulls the cargo.
🪂 Cargo glider in back
No engine.
No pilot.
Just carries cargo.
Flies itself using computers.
Think of it like:
🚚 Truck pulling a trailer
except it's
✈️ Airplane pulling a flying trailer.
Because the glider doesn't have engines, fuel tanks, or pilots, it's much cheaper and lighter than building a whole second airplane. Aerolane believes this can dramatically increase how much cargo an aircraft carries while using only a little more fuel.
THE TEAM
The CEO built BNSF Railway's UAS program (the first scaled commercial drone operation in the U.S.) and chaired the FAA's BVLOS Pathfinder 3 program.
The Chairman co-founded and led Amazon Prime Air.
The senior leadership team includes a former Deputy Director of the FAA Aircraft Certification Service, who authored the company's certification plan.
The advisory board adds the founder of UPS Flight Forward.
The Defense Board includes the former Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force and the former J4 at U.S. INDOPACOM.
WHY IT’S UNIQUE

Pre-certification access to the only new aviation architecture that uses existing runways, ground handling, and pilots - the carrier switching cost is an upgrade kit, not a fleet replacement.
A binding commercial PO, an STC in final FAA review, and a regulatory bench that includes the former Deputy Director of FAA Aircraft Certification together de-risk the path to first revenue.
Defense engagement is real: three Department of War programs in active evaluation, backed by a four-star Defense Board (no contract dollars flowing yet).
NEXT STEPS
We are hosting a 45-minute Q&A call with Aerolane CEO Todd Graetz on Friday, June 5 at 12:00 PM ET. If you'd like to attend, reply to this email and we'll send the calendar invite.
Best,
Brooks
